2018/19
Premier League 2018/19:
The Story So Far
Jürgen Klopp reached 200 league points as manager of Liverpool FC following the 4-0 win against West Ham United FC – his 107th game in charge. Only Sir Kenny Dalglish (99 games) and Bill Shankly (104 games) reached the landmark sooner with Klopp being the quickest to accumulate 200 points in the Premier League era.

Sadio Mané has now scored in Liverpool FC's opening league fixture for three consecutive seasons. The last LFC player to achieve that feat was John Barnes between 1989/90 and 1991/92, before the Premier League era began in 1992/93.
Speaking of our Senegalese international star, Sadio Mane also became the first Liverpool FC player since Robbie Fowler in 1994/95 to score three goals in the opening two Premier League games of a season when he netted twice against West Ham United FC and scored another away to Crystal Palace FC at Selhurst Park.

James Milner opened the scoring in the 2-0 win at Crystal Palace FC and has now netted in 48 Premier League games during his career. He's never been on the losing side when scoring – a competition record.
It's also worth noting that Liverpool FC's 2-0 win at Crystal Palace FC was our 73rd Premier League game on a Monday. No other club has played more Monday Premier League matches.
When Mo Salah struck the winning goal against Brighton & Hove Albion FC it meant the Reds had scored 20 goals at Anfield without conceding – a best ever run in the Premier League. Jürgen Klopp's side extended that run to 23 against Southampton FC, equalling the 23-goal run without conceding that Sir Kenny Dalglish's LFC side went on between March and August 1986.

Mo Salah has scored 22 goals in 23 Premier League games for LFC at Anfield. Only Stoke City FC and Manchester City FC have stopped him scoring in Anfield league games in 2018.
There weren't too many remarkable stats to come out of the Reds' 2-1 success at Leicester City FC but a couple might raise your eyebrows. James Milner's assist was his 80th in Premier League – equalling David Beckham's total – while Sadio Mané's opener and the subsequent result extended Liverpool FC's run of not losing an away league game when netting first since December 2016.

Roberto Firmino wrote himself into the Liverpool FC record books when he scored the decisive goal in the 2-1 away win against Tottenham Hotspur FC – Bobby became the first LFC player to net a winning goal at Wembley in a league game. Gini Wijnaldum's goal in the same match was also his first in an away Premier League game.
The 3-0 win against Southampton FC was the 388th time that Liverpool FC have led by two goals or more at half-time in a league game at Anfield. The Reds have won 374 of those matches, drawn 14 and lost none – an incredible record!
Joel Matip's towering header in that 3-0 victory against Southampton FC was his first goal at Anfield and he also earned the rather quirky footnote of being the first ever Liverpool FC player to score at the Anfield Road end while wearing the number 32 shirt!

Daniel Sturridge's goal in the 1-1 draw at Chelsea was his 50th in the Premier League for Liverpool FC, making him only the seventh player to reach such a landmark following Robbie Fowler (128), Steven Gerrard (120), Michael Owen (118), Luis Suarez (69), Fernando Torres (69) and Dirk Kuyt (51).

Alisson's clean sheet against Manchester City FC helped the Reds to equal two previous records. It was the ninth consecutive Premier League game at Anfield in which Liverpool FC hadn't conceded, equalling a run between November 2006 and February 2007. It also meant the Reds had only conceded three goals in their opening eight league games, equalling the club record set in 1978/79. The Brazilian international's clean sheet at Huddersfield Town FC subsequently set a new club record of only three goals conceded in LFC's opening nine league games.
A return of 23 points from the opening nine games equals Liverpool FC's best ever start to a Premier League season, also achieving the same tally in 2008/09. Amazingly the Reds have only conceded one first half goal in a Premier League game at Anfield in 2018, scored by Manchester City FC's Leroy Sane back in January.
Liverpool FC haven't lost a Premier League match at Anfield since it was announced on 3rd May 2017 that the Centenary Stand was to be renamed after Sir Kenny Dalglish.
Liverpool FC's win at Huddersfield Town FC was the Reds' 200th away win of the Premier League era with Mo Salah scoring his 50th goal in English football. The first was a 1-0 victory at Queens Park Rangers FC in November 1992 courtesy of a goal by Ronny Rosenthal.

Since Virgil van Dijk signed for Liverpool FC in January the Reds have kept 14 clean sheets and conceded 16 goals in 24 Premier League matches. This is the best record in the division so we've put it into a table!
