Captain Vincent Kompany's departure after 11 years to become player-manager at RSC Anderlecht means Manchester City FC have lost some experience, but they've also broken their club-record transfer fee by signing Spanish midfielder Rodri from Club Atletico de Madrid for £62.8 million.

Fellow Spaniard Angelino, a 22-year-old defender, has also returned to the Etihad Stadium after spending a year with PSV Eindhoven and with the bookies making Pep Guardiola's men odds-on favourites to retain the Premier League title they will again be the team to beat.
