Premier League Preview
Wolverhampton Wanderers FC
Wolverhampton Wanderers FC finished seventh in the Premier League last season, the highest finishing position by a newly promoted club since Ipswich Town FC reached fifth in 2000/01.
History shows that Ipswich Town FC were surprisingly relegated the following season but Wolves, who also qualified for Europe for the first time since 1980/81, are looking in the opposite direction with owners Tosun International aiming to win the Premier League title by 2025 according to a report in The Times.
Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez, who struck 15 goals last season, and Belgian international midfielder Leander Dendoncker have completed permanent moves to Molineux after spending last season on loan in the Black Country and manager Nuno Espírito Santo is targetting more arrivals.
“We are only going to bring in players that add quality to the squad we have. That is why it requires time,” he said. “Sometimes things are not possible but I am hopeful we are going to bring in players. I hope we make not only one [signing], but a bunch of very good business.”
