Mighty's Mates

Mighty Red has been making new friends and catching up with some old ones during the last few months. He's also been on his travels from Liverpool to America...

Oh hey Emma Bee – I was buzzing to see you again in the Notre Dame Stadium! Emma Bee is Borussia Dortmund's mascot and we're old friends. We first met in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2018 and this summer we caught up again in Notre Dame, Indiana. We always have fun together and it was great to see my friend again in America.

When Liverpool FC reached the FA Cup final way back in 1988 the players recorded a song called The Anfield Rap. You can find it on YouTube, but it features Reds legend John Barnes rapping! I bumped into John at Anfield and we recreated his rap while having a little dance. He's such good fun and was a brilliant player for LFC.

This is Jubas – a Lisbon Lion! I met Jubas for the first time at Yankee Stadium in New York when Liverpool FC played Sporting Clube de Portugal on our summer visit to America. His team are also known as Sporting Lisbon and when we swapped shirts Jubas told me that if I am on a summer tour then he must be on a summer roar! I love making new friends from different countries.

We all dream of a team of Carraghers, a team of Carraghers, a team of Carraghers! Jamie Carragher has always been one of my favourites so when he spotted me at Anfield, before Liverpool FC beat Norwich City FC 4-1 in the Premier League, he came over for a photo. Thanks Carra, see you again soon.

I love, love, love a good goal celebration and spend ages practising them. So when my mates came along to footie training we all did our best Sadio Mané celebrations. Can you do it better? Go on, do a sneaky Sadio Mané celebration right now and see if anyone notices!

Anfield is our 12th man and before Liverpool FC beat Newcastle United FC 3-1 in the Premier League in August I met the player buddies who walk out onto the pitch with the players. Here we all are getting ready to cheer the Reds on.

John Aldridge scored 63 goals for Liverpool FC and on September 18th he celebrated his 61st birthday. He'll have the same number of goals as his age in two years! Aldo is always a lot of fun whenever I see him so here we are never walking alone and not messing about at all. Honest!
