The End-of-Season Anfield Lap of Honour

It's a see-you-soon for most of the LFC first-team squad but sometimes a so-long-to-the-Kop for some players, as the home campaign comes to a close…

2016

It was Jürgen Klopp's first-ever end-of-season Anfield walkabout – and also his 50th game in charge – and it came in the last game played in front of the 'old' Main Stand. Philippe Coutinho also received the special award presented to him by fans on the Kop after the 1-1 draw with Chelsea FC last May.

Definitely one for the family album! Liverpool FC couldn't quite manage a victory in Steven Gerrard's last appearance (as a first-team player) at Anfield, but the defeat to Crystal Palace FC hardly seemed to matter on this emotional afternoon. Steven is in the middle here, surrounded by a whole lot of LFC love!

2014

After a sensational season that so nearly ended with the Premier League title, Liverpool FC signed off with a 2-1 win over Newcastle United FC at Anfield – the overall 2013/14 total of 101 goals a club-record in the top flight. Here's Luis Suarez, who got 31 of them, on the pitch at the final whistle with his children.

2013

Sunday 19 May 2013 marked Jamie Carragher's farewell in what was his 737th appearance for LFC. The Reds beat Queens Park Rangers FC 1-0 and Carra almost scored – his 30-yard shot hitting the post in front of the Kop! Earlier he'd walked onto the pitch to a guard of honour, and he left to a thunderous ovation.

2012

Three days after FA Cup final heartache, the Reds exacted revenge by thumping Chelsea FC 4-1 in Anfield's final Premier League fixture of the season. Afterwards, as the players saluted the fans, defender Sebastian Coates and attacker Maxi Rodriguez had fun in front of the camera!

2011

A tough last day at the Anfield office for manager Kenny Dalglish and assistants Steve Clarke and Sammy Lee as the Reds lose 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur FC. Mind you, they had just won 5-2 at Fulham FC, and before that put five past Birmingham City FC and three past Newcastle United FC in their previous two home games!

2010

If Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard look a little glum on this Anfield lap from Sunday 2 May 2010, it's because the Reds had just lost 2-0 at home to Chelsea FC. It was a difficult period at LFC but as always the fans were there to applaud their heroes.

2009

It was a tearful Anfield goodbye to Sami Hyypia on Sunday 24 May 2009 as the big Finn played his 464th and final game for the Reds. The 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur FC was LFC's 10th victory in their final eleven Premier League games of the season and secured second spot in the table.

Carra and kids fall in line behind the boss after Rafa's Reds had beaten Sven Goran Eriksson's Manchester City FC 1-0 in the final Anfield game of season 2007/08. The only goal came from Fernando Torres – the eighth successive home league game in which he's found the net, equalling a record set by Roger Hunt in 1961/62.
