Andrew Robertson

Jürgen Klopp's third summer signing is left-back Andrew Robertson – but you can call him Andy!

Andy Robertson was born in Glasgow, Scotland and was with Celtic until he was 15 but they decided to let him go.

He is a Celtic fan and was so gutted that the Bhoys didn't want him he almost quit football! But Robertson ended up signing for another Glasgow club called Queen's Park and did so well there that Dundee United bought him.

In just once season with the Tangerines he won PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year and then in the summer of 2014 signed for Premier League Hull City. The Tigers were like a yo-yo – they went down and up and then back down to The Championship again! – but Andy caught the attention of LFC boss Klopp last season with his ace performances.

The 23-year-old was in the Hull team that beat Liverpool FC 2-0 last season – booo! – but also played at Anfield when the Reds beat the Tigers 5-1 – woo-hoo! Now he'll be playing at Anfield every other week and LFC's new no.26 is looking forward to wearing the famous red shirt.

“There’s not many, if any, more special clubs than Liverpool. When you grow up as a kid you dream of playing with big clubs such as Liverpool and to make that a reality is a dream come true for me. I just want to prove to people that I can do it at this level, and hopefully I manage to do that this season and go on to do good things for this club.”
